Very nice, but would have been nice to have our meal and THEN enjoy entertainment (singing, dancing) as it took too long and didn't allow anytime to visit the villages for anyone who may have finished their meal and want to see the center more than the canoe ride. Horizons was awesome!

The show was great and we enjoyed it very much. The rest of the experience was so-so. Our driver was 30 min. late and we were rushed into the park with most of the villages already closed for the day. The dinner was again rushed and we were seated during the end of the show which appeared to have been great. The little we saw of it was really funny. The food left a bit to be desired. But then we went to the Horizon show and it was awesome. I guess when you go to the half day show you're really just getting the great evening show. Next time I'll know to go to some other luau and go to the cultural center during the day to really see what's there. Feel like we missed a lot.

We attended the Alii Luau at Polynesian Cultural Center (Twilight Half-Day Package) hoping to see an authentic luau. Instead we experienced Disneyland on Oahu. Being from Southern California, the land of theme parks, some aspects of the center were a little too "cheesy" since we were hoping for authentic culture. Most of the staff were college students from the local BYU (university).
Worst of all was the "Horizons" Night Show. This production caps off the night and left us wishing we had spent that hour and a half of our trip somewhere else. This "Disney-esqe" production is filed with cheesy music and college students who probably only practice the dance routines once a week. The theater/ set itself is phenomenal but the show is a dud! The fire-dancers were the only interesting aspect.
Good Points: Food during the luau was DELICIOUS! The guy doing the demonstration at the Somoa Village was HILARIOUS!
Recommended for families with young children looking for a theme-park type adventure in Hawaii.

The bus picked us up 30 minutes late and stopped 3 times for smoke break. Very unprofessional and smelly. Would not recommened. You can go to a far better luau and not spend a whole day there.

Great time had by all. Tour guide Milo was terrific and upbeat. Very knowledgeable about the Islands and cultures. Food was delicious and thank goodness for the children's buffet since we were with a very picky eater. Thank you for a great memory.

Cousin Henry (our driver and guide) was fantastic! He made the trip. Very informative, and spoke from experience. Food was good, not amazing, but plentiful. Evening show took awhile to get interesting, but then look out! Fire show was incredible. Don't miss the demonstrations before the luau!! We thought the cost was a little pricy, but the experience was just wonderful.

This was our second time and again thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was good. Staff/ students were quite helpful and the performers were certainly talented. Our driver was prompt, knowledgeable and went out of his way to be attentive. We definitely recommend this to families of all ages.

This has been our third luau. We have been to a luau in Kona and the Old Lahaina Luau. This year my family and I decided to attend the luau at the Polynesian center since we had heard so much of it. Unfortunately, we were not impressed and actually disappointed. We were treated better at the other two luau's, such as free alcohol drinks and hospitality overall. Your dinner was good, and the waitress attended us well. We were disappoin- ted with the show. I felt I was watching a Las Vegas show and not a cultural, narrative, Polynesian history show. My family and I love to see the grass skirt dances and you had very little of it. We also did not like the auditorium ambiance and everyone running to get ice cream.

I was told this was the most authentic luau on Oahu. The actually dinner was a bit crowded and the stage show was too loud and pretty boring. The buffet offered a variety of dishes but I had to eat from the kids side because that menu only offered the vegetarian option that actually had nutritional value.
When booking this trip it would have been nice to know up front that the cultural center was run by mormons so therefore there was no alcohol or caffeine available. The night show was worth seeing...very well done...just as good as a play in NYC.
Our driver picked us up 15 minutes late then proceeded to wait another 20 for 2 people who were on the list and were not there yet. Because of this we were unable to get the tour of the center that we paid for and they would not issue us tickets to come again some other day. If I could do it all over again I would go the full day, pack food and see the evening show. Probably rent a car and take a break down the street on the beach.

I thought that it was too overpriced and too commercial. I have been to Paradise Cove and I recommend that one over this if you're looking for an authentic luau. The luau wasn't even by the beach. Too many people and the seats we got for the night show was all the way in the back. It was a little hard to see. We didn't receive any shell leis when we walked in. BIG disappointment. I don't think I want to go back here. There are better luaus out on Oahu.

This is a must see for anyone visiting the island of Oahu! The Luau is a feast and the Horizons show is a spectacular way to end the evening. I would suggest that those planning their itinerary, schedule this event on their last night in Hawaii, so as to end with a bang.
Also, those traveling with children will find the tour of the different villages to be extremely educational.
Remember to bring extra cash for browsing the gift shops, tipping your servers, and just in case you want to purchase that DVD recording of the Horizons show to give the folks back home a taste of the whole fantastic experience!
