Fair Winds Staff were very friendly and professional. Service felt very personalized even with such a large amount of people. Boat was very comfortable and we had a very pleasant journey to the Captain Cook Monument (our snorkel spot). Kids loved the water slide and high dive off the boat as much as the snorkeling experience.

Everyone we talked to on the Big Island said that this was the best snorkeling experience in Hawaii. After taking an afternoon sail, I can see why. The simple answer is that it has an extremely awesome crew. They are both knowledgeable and very friendly. The snorkeling gear fitted well (and we were one of the last groups to receive ours so they clearly had enough to go around) and the snorkeling was great. My children enjoyed both the diving platform and the slide (and i did as well.) Mahalo.

We had a wonderful time last Thursday aboard the Fair Wind. The weather could have been better on our afternoon cruise; however, that is obviously beyond the control of the crew. The snorkeling was great and it was a unique way to see the coast (and to visit the Captain Cook monument without having to make the drive.) Best of all, the crew was fanstastic--organized, efficient and very friendly. It was probably our only Hawaii activity where tips were truly vountarly. Thanks for a great time.

Staff was very knowledgable and friendly. We did the afternoon cruise and were amazed by how many people they fit onto the boat...it was huge. The snorkling was great and it was easily modifed for all ability levels from small (2 yr old) children, to the elderly. They do not provide life vests, but you dont need them. They do have waist floats if you would feel more comfortable. Great time

After two weeks on Island and doing many things, we reflected on our wonderful adventure with the Fair Wind gang. From the Wahines at the check in to the crew on board an awesome time was had by all. We made friends along the way and had a much needed adventure you can't get unless you get aboard. The island is so beautiful from off shore and should be checked out by everyone in need of some true fun. The boat is clean and comfortable. The crew was really up for giving everyone what they needed and smiles and laughter where the results all around. We saw more dolphin on this trip than we did on an actual dolphin trip we went on. A win win in our book. We have a condo in Kona and go quit often. Fair Wind adventures have made a return client out of us on our future trips. Mahalo nui loa for all the le'ale'a (fun)!!!!

The crew was knowledgeable, informative, and willing to accommodate every skill level. They provided a narrative about the Captain Cook Monument and a quick review of how to snorkel for the experienced participants. For those with little or no experience they provided further assistance. The waters were clear and the coral was beautiful. We spotted several different types of fish too. The fresh oranges and pineapples provided as snacks were quite delicious after being in the water for so long. All in all this was a very pleasant excursion.

This was the best snorkel experience I ever had. The crew is very nice. I saw many amazing things, such as coral, beautiful fish, and sea turtles. I even got extremely close to about 20 dolphins. The boat is also nicely equipped with a water slide and diving board, which are a lot of fun. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to have a great snorkeling experience.

This was a highlight of our stay at Big Island. The snorkeling site was wonderful, we saw lots of fish, dophins, sea turtles and a lot of beautiful coral. I got sea sick during the trip, the crew members were very nice to me and made me feel at home. I definitely rate this activity a Five Star!

First of all I would like to coment how easy it was to book this trip. Even so I made a mistake on the date, Fairwind Cruises had no problem what so ever to correct MY mistake and honor my booking for the right day and time. No hassels what so ever. when do you ever hear about that!!!
The day of our trip we arrived at Kaehou Bay and where greeted and welcomed in the most proffessional manner.Everybody was fitted with sanitized snorkel gear once boarded.Safty intructions where clear and to the point.Refreshments and snacks where plenty.
Staff was helpfull and informative. One of the guys even retieved a $100 dollar bill for a passenger that flew into the water. I hope he got a good tip, lol
The boat took us to Captain Cook Monument where there was incedible snorkling.
The ship had also a highdive and a huge slide. Kids had a ball.
One the way back to the bay delicious mai tais where served.(no host bar)
What an afternoon...............

Wow is really all I can say... the boat was a good size a little rocky so if you get motion sickness you will definatley need to something. The snacks were fruit & a cracker mix, the fruit was very good. The drinks besides water & juice are I believe 50 cents a piece. The Boat had a diving platform & slide, so that was pretty fun. They do have prescription goggles if you need those & flotation devices if you need those as well. One of the best things is there are parts that are anywhere from 2 to 7ish feet from the reef it was so beautiful & at times I was literally swimming with the fish. Awsome place I'll have to go back now with my boyfriend.

This was a fun boat ride, but not so much for the snorkeling. The bay we went to was way overcrowded and you are very limited as to where you can snorkel.
The lunch was very good and the staff was more than accommodating. For me the only good part was the actual boat ride.
Next time I think I would like to go on a real sailboat and forget about the group snorkeling. There are so many great spots to snorkel on the Big Island that you really should explore on your own and not in an overcrowded group.

We absolutely enjoyed the Fair Wind Catamaran Cruise activity. The crew was friendly and very accomodating, the snorkeling location was absolutely beautiful and was filled with sea life and the experience overall was wonderful. Definitely recommend this activity. Will definitely repeat this activity when we visit the Big Island again.

My friend Nancy and I purchased this tour on the Fair Wind as a Father's Day gift for our husbands, Jay & Jim. Jay & I had taken a similar tour in Kauai last summer. We were expecting a similar activity this time, but were pleasantly surprised to find that it was so much more. The catamaran was so much nicer, the snorkeling was wonderful, the crew was so attentive to our every need and the food was great also. We all had a wonderful time and will definitely do the same thing the next time we are on the Big Island of Hawaii. It was also great that the departure place was only a five minute walk from the resort where we were staying. The crew was very helpful in instructing us as to where to snorkel and find the most fish. My husband got some great pictures with his underwater camera. The boat was not over crowded. The weather turned out to be beautiful that day. I would also like to mention that the ages of the four of us range from 65 to 73. We had no problem maneuvering around the boat or getting into the water. We will definitely be back for another great trip on the Fair Wind.
